HONORING OUR RELATIVES
We Remember Their Names, Their Lives, and Their Stories
This page is dedicated to honoring Indigenous relatives whose lives were taken too soon. Through remembrance, storytelling, and community awareness, we carry their names forward and continue the call for justice, visibility, and healing.
WHY WE REMEMBER
Their Stories Matter
Every story shared here represents a loved one, a family, and a community forever changed. We remember them not only in grief, but in action — by continuing to raise awareness, support families, and keep Indigenous lives visible and honored.
To speak their names is to refuse silence. To carry their stories forward is to affirm that they mattered, and that they still do.

IN LOVING MEMORY
Marlene Thomas
Shoshone-Paiute Tribes • Duck Valley Indian Reservation (Owyhee, NV)
Marlene Thomas was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and a respected member of her community. She was known for opening her home to others and helping whenever she could.
In March 2021, Marlene was taken from her family in a tragic act of violence. Her case remains unresolved. We honor Marlene by speaking her name, standing beside her loved ones, and continuing the work to bring awareness, accountability, and protection to Indigenous families.
Her family continues to seek answers and encourages anyone with information to come forward. We remember Marlene — and we will not stop.
The family is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who committed this crime. Marlene was a respected member of our community… a mother, sister, aunt, grandma, tribal elder, former tribal council member, nurse and comeone who unselfishly opened her home to many in need and always willine to help people when ever she could. She didn’t deserve this. We will not let it rest until we find out the truth. We ask anyone who knows what happened that night to do the right thing. Please come forward and take this dark cloud away from the
family and our reservation by helping to solve this crime. Don’t let the murderers get away with this! It could happen again and might happen to one of your family members.
